    ubuntu 10.04 Home server

Can someone please help me with a home server. I would like to setup a home server in my home and use Ubuntu 10.04 LTS as the OS. I would like to have most if not all the functions that is in the exito bubba server. Can anyone help me with this??? I've got a server ready but no idea of where to go from here. I use freenas right now but I want an ubuntu solution instead. Oh I've already got the server rack ready with the server mounted and all the other hardware that I wanted in my home already done. the UHS is the only thing missing in the UHS rack.

I think you need to be more specific with your question.
Here is a good place to start with your server: https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/index.html

Hard to understand what you want. Need more details, but you could try LAMP if it's what you're looking for.

I want what my first message says.. go to excito's site and read that. The bubba server has every thing that I am needing in my home. And they use Debian in that so why is it so hard for ubuntu to NOT have a easier way of making a UHS

Not to start a ******* contest here, but when requesting help from people it is often regarded to be beneficial to not come with an attitude.

You didn't provide a link, nor explain anything about this bubba server, yet expected people to go out of their way to search and help you.

Here is my response for you.
Use the search function at the top. use google.

everything that this bubba server does can be done with ubuntu fairly easily.

    heres a start.
    Samba file server
    Ushare media server
    Apache web server

    Search Lamp

Maybe someone else will have a little softer heart.

Here is a HOWTO which I found comprehensive and invaluable.
Are you using the most current version of this how-to?
Version numbers are located @ top right of this page. Latest versions are available at my homepage http://woodel.com
